Cache container is a small, partially camouflaged plastic container with original contents: a logbook, some small items, a five dollar bill for FTF and a TB.
This is my first hide. I thought that this park could use another cache, hence the name. The terrain could be tricky, especially after a rainfall. This is a nice park with tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball fields, a playground, picnic area and a community center.
A Civil War buff that I used to know thought that the Confederate river defenses of Fredericksburg probably stretched to about here. There are a number of fairly well-preserved gun pits overlooking the river between here and Dixon Park, but they are on private land. At the crest of the hill above the cache is a spot that could have been used for such a purpose, but that is just a guess.
Please be careful in replacing the cache.
