This cache is about 1/2 mile off Interstate 64. There is a pull off area to park in. It is located about 200' off the road.
If you are up for a little adventure, you will enjoy this. You have to first cross a small creek by stepping on the rocks and then climb up a hill. There is a lot of forest cover, so you might have to look for a small opening in the canopy to let your GPS find itself again. You are looking for a small ammo box. Enjoy the seclusion of a neat place just off the road.
After you find it and get back to your vehicle, take time to look at the Benchmark disc placed in the rock wall across the street from where you parked. It is about 2' above the road and was placed there in 1960. You are looking for a round metal disk on the side of a vertical face of the rock wall. It is a busy road, so watch for traffic. It's designation is A 87, and you can view it on the geocaching website under "Find a Benchmark" and type in "GX1098" under "Search: By Point ID". Benchmarks are also fun to find!
