This cache is located at the base of an old volcanic vent(?)
If you've ever been to, or seen a picture of Devils tower in Wyoming then you'll have some idea of what I'm talking about.
The cliff face and surrounding areas are formed out of old lava, As the lava cooled, hexagonal (and sometimes 4-, 5-, and 7-sided) columns formed creating the distinctive look of the cliff.
The cache is hidden somewhere at the base of this cliff.
If it all possible I'd highly recommend coming up here on a nice summer day, the view from this location is breathtaking
Due to the sharp incline on the way up to the cache site it would probably be best to bring along a partner, if you were to get hurt, help would be almost impossible to get.
I've also seen cougar tracks just up the road from this spot so keep an eye out!
