As with any rural part of Iowa, there can be all sorts of bugs, including ticks as mentioned below, bees and wild parsnip ( to which the oils - some people are sensitive to), and other nature encounters possible. Just be mindful. Sunblock is highly recommended.
Up at the main Building, there are some great books for reading and maps of the area. You can also find a restroom there if needed.
