Geocache Description:

PLEASE BEWARE OF MUGGLES AT GZ, THANK YOU

Ticket To Ride
(visit link)

Hello and Welcome to a new cache in the Ticket To Ride series. The inspiration to place this geocache along my local railway line, came after doing the original cache. The original Ticket To Ride cache was a 35mm film canister placed about 30 feet from Gwersyllt train station. It proved popular and was expanded to a series to include Caergwrle and Cefn-Y-Bydd stations.

Each cache is placed on or near the station it takes it's name from. 35mm film canisters are normally used, each contains a log book and a small pencil. Please take care when caching at these locations, you should never go down onto the track. NONE of the caches require you to do this. And watch out for muggles.

It would be great if other people took an interest in this series too and helped headshot119 (Karl) expand it further afield. Anyone can place a cache under the Ticket To Ride name. If you would like to take part contact him at (visit link)

A list and location of all the Ticket To Ride caches can be found here (visit link)

Another series which had started quite a while which I have just found (very intresting) on the same LINES is

Prestatyn (visit link)

This cache is one of our small containers a log book and no pencil/pen so please take one. It is placed on Prestatyn train station in North Wales where there is free parking outside the station (see waypoint).
Like most of the stations on the line it only has two platforms with very basic facilities.

Prestatyn railway station serves the town of Prestatyn in North Wales. The coming of the railway is credited with bringing prosperity to the town, which was an aspiring resort. The station is managed by Arriva Trains Wales, and is served by that company's services from Cardiff, Crewe and Manchester to Holyhead and Llandudno, and also by Virgin Trains services to and from London Euston.

History
The railway line through the area, running from Chester along the coast, was first known as the Chester and Holyhead Railway. Its construction began in the early 1840s and it was opened in 1848.
Later the line became part on the London & North Western Railway. Although threatened with closure in the 1960s as part of the Beeching cuts, objections meant the station was reprieved. Railway line History (visit link)

You could treat the kids to a play in the large nearby park, where I spent many a happy hour as a child/teenager.

Congratulations to 1st arrow for finding this Geocache on the 26/1/08 at 9.0pm.
