THIS WAS HARROGATE HUNTERS FIRST CACHE HE PLACED
!
This Cache is placed at Yorke's Folley, on a ridge above
Pateley Bridge in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire. There are fantastic
views from the folley down to Pateley Bridge below you and along
Nidderdale.
The folley (two towers) was built by a local and influential
family, the Yorkes, to provide work at the time of depression. Each
worker received a loaf of bread and 4 old pennies per day they
worked.
Parking is availiable at N54.04.155 W001.45.811 and it is a
short walk (approx 0.4km) to the cache. (Alternative N54 04.056
W001 45.752)
Why not take a longer walk taking in the nearby In the Rubble
cache....
The cache is in a small tupperware box.
This was the first ever cache placed by Harrogate Hunters, and
in my opinion still one of the best !
Good luck.....
