Geocache Description:

Ok, so they're not really dangling (however, the cache might be); it's the catchy title I was going for.

The balls are called "marker balls" and are an FAA requirement on high power lines for the benefit of low-flying aircraft as the relatively thin power lines can be difficult to see from the sky looking down into varied terrain. Matter of fact, "wire strikes" are among the leading causes of helicopter accidents.

You can drive up to cache in regular clearance vehicle; enter via a closed but unlocked gate at N32 39.286 W116 48.424 . The area appears to be opened 24/7 but I will advise against a night hunt as it appears to be a thoroughfare for illegal migrants.

Cache is in Sycamore Canyon and is on the way to the High Voltage Fun cache. I was returning from that cache when I set this one up. You will need a high clearance vehicle to proceed there from this cache.

Please bring your own pen until I can put one in.
