Geocache Description:

This is the second cache in our series of eight "Oz" caches on the Kinzua Valley Trail beginning at the Westline Trailhead. The trail is being developed by the Kinzua Valley Trail Club. Currently, it is approximately 2.5 miles. For more information on the trail and the club, go to: www.kinzuavalleytrailclub.org.

Many thanks to the Kinzua Valley Trail Club for granting permission to place these caches along the trail.

In the book, "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" when Dorothy first meets four munchkins "...she noticed her coming down toward her a group of the queerest people she had ever seen. They were not as big as the grown folk she had always been used to; but neither were they very small. In fact, they seemed about as tall as Dorothy, who was a well-grown child for her age, although they were, so far as looks go, many years older."

In the musical "The Wizard of Oz" approximately 124 midgets were contracted to play the "little people" who became known as Munchkins that would inhabit Munchkinland.

Encouraged by Glinda (the good witch), the timid Munchkins come out of hiding and celebrate the demise of the witch singing "Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead" among other cheerful songs.

Due to the tree cover, we could only get a reading with an accuracy of 35 ft. Please bring your own pen to log this cache.
