Bannack Ghost Town Traditional Cache
MTGeoPirates: Well, our first (and possibly our best) cache is no longer in play. We're moving and after talking with the park manager we're going to pull the cache and let someone else have chance to place a cache at this great spot.

Our first cache, and we couldn't think of a better place to put it.
This is the first in a series of caches in/near the historic mining towns of Southwestern Montana. Bannack is one of our favorite spots in Southwest Montana, and we wanted to share it with other geocachers. Please take some time to explore before/after finding the cache. Since this is a state park, there are a few caveats to our being able to place a cache here. Those being...
1 Caching is only allowed during park hours, which are currently 8:00am to dusk, (8:00am to 9:00 starting in June) seven days a week.
2 The state parks of Montana are free to anyone who arrives in a vehicle registered in Montana. If you are in an out of state vehicle the fee is $5.OO per vehicle. Trust me, it’s worth it!
3 You may want to visit the parks website before your visit to see what they offer (camping, etc) at that specific time of year.
The only other things we’d like to mention are the fact that mosquitoes can be quite bad during the summer months and that no bushwacking is necessary, other than at the very end. Other than that we hope you enjoy Bannack as much as we do.
