Mike's Barton Runaround v2.0 Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

victorymike: Stopped by to pick up my cache from the shelter but it was somewhere other than the front desk. Then I stopped by Barton Park to check on the rest of the cache. Stage 1 was missing but stage 2 was still in place. The camoflage for the cache was gone so I decided to archive my cache. I picked up stage 2 on my way back by...so nothing is left out there. It was a rather warm afternoon and I enjoyed the hike along the river, as usual. Lots of frogs and fish along the shore. I hope everybody enjoyed this cache...it seems to have had a good run. Maybe its time for a new cache out here.

Geocache Description:

This is a 3 stage multi-cache placed with the permission of the NAP division of the Ann Arbor Park System. The caches are all near walking trails.

This cache can be done in combination with my "VM's Ultimate Sig Item Swapper (@ Barton Park)", "Bird Hills", and "Home of the Kuebler-Langford Elves" caches. After completing the Bird Hills cache walk down Bird Road until it ends at Barton Park. After completing MBRv2.0 hike further down the trails and seek out VM's Ult. Sig Item Swapper. Continue on and cross the second bridge over the Huron River. Kuebler Langford Park is right around the corner. This will take you back near stage one of my Bird Hills cache.

Park at Barton Dam. The park is closed from 10pm to 6am. Dogs and bicycles are allowed (but if you bring your bicycle please do not take the riverside trail mentioned below). It is a gorgeous trail system with spectacular views of the Huron River.

The first stage may be slightly muddy, but you can get around the muddy spots easily. After finding stage one I highly recommend taking the riverside trail (turn right just after crossing the bridge). You should see plenty of fish swimming right next to the trail (really!)

The first stage is a 35mm black plastic microfilm container (4"x4"x2") and the second is a clear 118 mL oil sample bottle. The final cache is a 1.5 gallon pretzel jar.

October 6, 2004. I retrieved the cache camera today. Photos posted October 14th.
