This park features Great Brook (cascades, pools, potholes formed by abrasion in swirling water); hillside boulders, springs, intermittent streams; young to medium-aged northern mixed woods (with thick vegetation and slash from earlier logging); diverse wildflowers; excellent birding (on Connecticut River Birding trail, see http://www.birdtrail.org); grown-up pastures, stone walls.
There are trails exploring Great Brook and forested uplands. It also has an exercise trail and a cross-country ski trail system.
Take 4E off I-89, exit 19. Take a right on Slayton Hill Road, then a left on Dulac. You can park at N 43 38.148, W072 15.156 There is construction going on at the end of Dulac, just go to the right and up to the parking lot just before it says 'Road ends'.
The cache is an ammo box. It contains a bookcrossing book (The Pilot's Wife), lego, flashlight (had to add that after being on too many night time hikes :-), and a bunch of other little trinkets. Oh, and I shouldn't forget to mention the naked barbie that my 3yo HAD to put in!
