Park on Merrill Hill Road between Rte. 160 and Middle Road in Parsonsfield at the cache coordinates. Cross the road to reach the cemetery for the vital piece of info. Then, cross back to walk to the top of the hill which is 1.3 miles one way. You can stay on woods roads and trails to within 150 feet of the cache.
In the cemetery, find Elizabeth’s headstone and...Take the two middle digits of the year she died and subtract 5. This new number is the last two digits of the North coordinates: N 43.43.7xx....Take her age in years and add it to 384 to get the last three digits of the West coordinates: W070.54.xxx
On the walk in there are many tempting left hand turns that look like they go up the hill, but wait until you reach a 4-way intersection after a big open space: straight ahead is a logging cut, the right turn goes down, and the left turn goes up to the cache.
The cache is an ammo box filled with a variety of items and a log book. It lies at the base of a small tree. The view at the summit is to the south....lots of trees and small hills.
