Located in Eagle Point Nature Preserve at High Rock Lake in Rowan County. Cache is very close to a trail, no bushwhacking is necessary. Round trip from the parking lot is about 2/3 of a mile. The trails could get muddy in spots and at times can be more like a footpath.
The cache is in a large vitamin bottle. Please be discreet in retrieving it. A small log is provided but please just sign it and put any comments on the cache page itself to save room in the log. Small trading items only.Park hours are 9:30-4:30. Every 3rd Saturday (March-Sept) guided Trail Walks will be held, so take care not to compromise the cache.Cache is named after the herons that can be seen and heard in the cache vicinity. Enjoy the Preserve!
