The Deadly Sins are a series of caches to help you regain a part
of your lost soul. What’s that, you ask? You didn’t realize you
were missing a piece? Sorry to inform that you are, but help is
close at hand. Whether you admit it or not (and you can, if you
want, in the logbook or online log), I believe we have all
experienced at least one of these sins in the process of geocaching
(for some of us, perhaps more than one. Not that I know anything
about that).
Gluttony
Gluttony can almost accidentally occur in the process of
geocaching. In a blink of an eye, you’ve logged over 1000 finds. In
6 months. You just want one more new geocoin icon on your
Trackables page. So what if you need to drive an hour to get one?
50 finds in one day? Just a warmup for your run at 100 in a day
next week. And if anyone questions it, hey, it’s not about the
numbers. Really.
Now, the cache itself has nothing specifically to do with
gluttony, but it not a simple park and ride either. Perhaps the
effort of finding the cache will help cleanse the soul.
Each of the Deadly Sins has a code on the inside front cover
of the logbook and on the inside cover of the cache container. You
must take note of the code to truly become
Virtuous and retrieve the part of your soul that is
lost.
About the cache:
Get over to Sessions Woods and head in the direction of the
beaver pond. At stage 1, I hid two sets of identical coords, just
in case one area is more accessible than the other. To reach the
final, you'll probably have to do a bit of a bushwhack with a
stream crossing. Not too bad, as long as you don't go off trail too
soon. You can probably stay on a trail until about 400 feet from
the cache. There is a blazed trail even closer, but it probably
won't help. Final location can have a lot of bounce, I averaged
coordinates using an external antenna.
