Sandberg's Resort Traditional Geocache

glh: Due to heavy rains a year or two ago, The Ridge Route is closed to traffic (large sections washed away) with a pretty heavy fine to trespassers. As the cache was reported to be missing by several Cachers I'm going to archive this one. It was fun while it lasted.

Geocache Description:

Completes a set of caches on the Old Ridge Route North of Los Angeles.

Starting at Templin Highway, go east to the Old Ridge Route and turn left. You will then be able to drive to "National Forest Inn" by Doe Walking & Tally The WS and "No room at the Inns" by AV8NDAD & Family, completing the set at Sandbergs. Continue North to Highway 138. Also, "Home on the Strange" by Bahkause is 10-15 min away near I-5 (See below)Sandberg's Summit Hotel was a popular stop on the old ridge route.For excellent info on Sandberg's, and the Ridge Route go to: Sandberg's Summit Hotel at www.Ridge Route.com
The Ridge Route is a rough road, partially paved but not maintained except to keep it open and passable. Park at: N 34 44.457 W 118 42.592 (Near future monument) Take dirt road near ruins, continue up hill staying to the left at the 2 forks. Cache is in a camoflaged ammo box, clearly marked w/ Geocaching.com painted on it. When placed, it contained: Mini stereo, toy cell phone,2 AA batteries,rubber snake,pooh bear keychain, looney tunes switchplate,sunglasses, wind up penguin,and Barbie keychain game, log book, and Geocaching stashnote.
