Youth Activity at Lake Shelbyville! Above coordinates will put you close to the visitors center. This is where we will meet at 8:30AM.
May 11th, 2005 - The St. Louis Area Geocachers Association has been asked to host a geocaching activity for the youth day at Lake Shelbyville. This activity will be sponsered by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the East Dam Recreation Area of Lake Shelbyville.
We are encouraging Central Illinois Geocachers to help out with this event as well as SLAGA. We need several to bring GPSr units to help groups of 12 Yr olds discover the fun and excitement of Geocaching. Sample caches and good stories are always welcome.
We will be making a trip down there to hide about 4 caches per group, a total of 12 caches, for them to hunt as a quick 45 minute activity.
If you can make this event, please post a note here and I will contact you with all the details.
Since this date is a Wednesday, I know a lot of you will be working so I want to encourage those who are retired or unemployed to come out and help.
The sessions are as follows -
Session 1 - 9:30
Session 2 - 10:25
Lunch - 11:10 (Provided by US CoE)
Session 3 - 11:45
Session 4 - 12:35
Please come and help our youth. There are some caches located around Lake Shelbyville and this will give you the opportunity to "git er done!"
