South Manitou
Island
Ice Cream Social
July 10, 2010
12:30-1:30pm
Everyone is invited to join us for a time of
fellowship and ice-cream on South Manitou Island. IMPORTANT
NOTE: This is a Bring your own ice cream event, and given this is
on an island 10 miles out in Lake Michigan we suspect you will want
to bring some freeze dried ice-cream (the kind that does not
melt). You can typically find it in the hiking section of
most sporting goods stores.
To get to the island you will need to take the
ferry or have your own private boat. We suggest you reserve
your ferry tickets as soon as you are able. Ferry capacity is
limited (Click here for
ferry information). The South Manitou Island ferry has a 4.5
hour layover. So attendees can come for just the day or some may
wish to camp on the island.

information on South Manitou Island (including camping)
All attendees are encouraged to do their own
research and prepare accordingly for their trip. South
Manitou Island does not have any amenities other than drinking
water and toilets. There are no merchants or restaurants on
the island. Plan on bringing everything you need for your
stay, such as food, water, rain gear, shelter etc.
The cords provided in this listing are the
estimated cords for the South Manitou Light House. Just look for a
group gathering near the light house or maybe on the beach in front
of the light.

Island event:
GC22C87 -
Survivor III - North Manitou Island
The ferry service only runs once a day to North Manitou (with no
layover). So Survivor III attendees will need to plan on at
least one night of camping in the wilderness.
