Geocache Description:

Hobart is the Australian gateway to Antarctica. Many of the South-bound ships anchor within a few hundred meters of this cache, and the IMAS building on the waterfront if full of Antartic scientists and expeditioners. Full to bursting.

Note: this cache was formerly a travel bug lounge, however I no longer feel this is safe for the travel bugs.

You will find the cache under a shrub at the top of a small stone stair case that is the first entrance to Princes Park off Salamanca Place. Walking toward the Eastern end of Salamanca Place, cross Runnymede Street, the first entrance to Princes Park is on the right. At the top of the small flight of stairs are small pillars on either side. The cache behind the top right-hand pillar (as you ascend). There are larger pillars at the bottom of the staircase too, it's the smaller pillars at the top you're after.

The location is a good opportunity for some CITO, but be careful scratching around in there, this is a high traffic spot, particularly for party-goers on the way home from a big night out. Please try to get the container back under any leaves so that it is not visible.

Happy travels.
