Welcome to the
Legend of the Blue Pearls cache
Once upon a time there lived a
mermaid named Marguerite. Marguerite lived along the seashore
sipping margaritas. When the sun dropped below the horizon
Marguerite would slip out of her alcove to cast her gaze upon the
few muggles that would come out to watch the sunset. Singing
sweetly about the silvery moonlight she would beckon to them to
join her. For every hapless victim that chose to drink from her
glass she bewitched them and turned them into a beautiful blue
pearl.
However, one day Marguerite
was accidentally harpooned by the coast guard and thus the
knowledge of where the blue pearls were kept was lost. Legend has
it they exist in a bottle kept in an alcove somewhere in Half Moon
Bay. Can you find Marguerite's pearls and release the imprisoned
souls of the past? Who did you release?
ABOUT THIS CACHE:
This cache is the final cache in
a series of seven caches hidden along the coast trail from southern
Half Moon Bay to Pillar Point Harbor. This series was designed with
the bicyclist in mind although you can reach them by car and
walking at various points. Hybrid, mountain bikes or bikes with
sturdy tires are recommended. The trails at the beginning are dirt
for about a mile.
My appreciation is given to
those of you who do not copy and paste the same log for all these
caches :-)
The Beginning<---do this one first if you are planning on
riding a bicycle. The complete round trip is about 14 miles.
Consider having lunch at Pillar Point which is the half way point
for this journey.
