Matty and his mates obviously mucked around the Port Augusta area quite a bit because somebody decided to put up a monument or two for him and his buddies.
Apparently Matt was a bit of a whiz when it came to numbers in particular Latitude and Longitude in relation to the stars which he worked out with complex mathematics!!
(Maybe he was a ”GPS free” Geocacher?)

This cache is for Matt and his mob… it has latitude and longitude coordinates worked out through mathematical calculations (very easy sums!!!!).

The first Co-Ordinates will lead you to a “Archway to Nowhere” that gives a hint to a couple of things that Matty and his lot got up to…

On the eastern pillar you will find a Brass Plaque with numbers scattered amongst the writing… (There are a couple of Plaques… choose the right one!)

Write the numbers down in the order that they appear on the plaque
Then write down the alphabet in line with each number
Ie.
A B C D E etc
# # # # # etc

Decode the following Co-Ordinates to get to your next destination, where you will gain a bit more knowledge of Matt and gangs activity around Port Augusta along with a backdrop that Matty and his mob could never have imagined in their wildest dreams would one day exist.

South 3L 3K . J5(G + L)

East N3C Q6 . BR(P - Q + M)

When you find the second location you will need to write the date the structure was erected “numerically” (you should end up with seven numbers NOT eight!!)

Create a new alphabet code
Ie.
A B C D E F G
# # # # # # #

Decode the following coordinates to find the final destination and the cache (which is near by)

South 32 (A+D)0 . 8CC

East 137 4F . GG3
