Suggested launch point: On the foreshore at the public slipway on Swanwick Shore Road, Swanwick, Hampshire, SO31 7EF. Please note that there are only around 30 parking spaces in the carpark and it can get busy, so car sharing would be a good idea if numbers grow.
Event meeting point: 12.15pm to 12.30pm at the navigation mark offshore at N50° 52.775 W001° 17.874 **please note that this is NOT accessible on foot, you will need some form of vessel to get to the meeting point**.
There's an optional post-event plan to paddle upstream with the flood tide. The plan is to head upstream from 12.30 with the flood tide and see where we get to around HW (14.30) before making the return journey on the ebb, returning to Swanwick about 17.00. This would be a paddling distance of about 3.5 miles each way (but we’ll be riding the tide both ways). It’ll be on a ‘spring tide’ so the tidal flow may be quite strong (especially at the start and end of the trip) so you should be comfortable in manoeuvring amongst moorings and other river users in what may be strong(ish) currents. Bring snacks and drinks for on the way if you want to do this post-event paddle.
