The medicine man used to have a view of the street, but with the continued growth of the University of Washington's Health Science Building, he has become trapped in a courtyard. It is a popular place for people to eat lunch, so have a seat while you log your visit and you will blend-in perfectly. Because there is a sidewalk entrance to this courtyard you do not have to enter any buildings.
Come visit the medicine man and he will give you good health. The featured sculpture is that of Asclepius, the Greek god of medicine. He is shown with his serpent and physician’s staff. In ancient times the serpent symbolized the renewal of youth as when a snake sheds its skin. Asclepius’ serpent and staff are considered the origin of the modern medical professional symbol that shows a snake wrapped around a staff. Right next to the sidewalk, directly in front of the sculpture, is a sandwich-sized tupperware cache. Enter your geocache login name and return the cache to its position.
