The End Of Marion Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

JoBoSoMo's Mom: This is a hard one to archive but the time has come to lay it to rest. We thought it was cleverly hidden enough that it would escape the wrath of the muggles but it wasn't to be. When I checked on it tonight the only thing left of the container is the cap that it was screwed to. It looks like whoever took it first tried to beat it off, that only bent things up petty good. They couldn't get the ring off the post. Then they must have gotten wrenches or plyers and taken the screws out in order to make off with the pipe. The log book was found in the gutter but no sign of the pipe or the container the log book was in inside the pipe. There was a lot of new gang graffiti everywhere also. Makes me also think the area might not be to safe to go into, especially after dark. It just doesn't make sense to me that someone would go to all that trouble to destroy it. We've fixed and repaired twice before but they didn't leave us anything to work with this time. May you rest in peace "The End Of Marion" wherever your parts may be.

Geocache Description:

There is no need to cross any fances or enter the wash area. PLEASE, NO spoiler photographs or logs (even if encrypted). It detracts from our intentions for the cache.

We place this cache in memory of my mom, Marion Folkman, who died December 21, 1999. After she retired from teaching school, she volunteered at the LDS Temple at the end of Bonanza. As we would drive her there, we would pass Marion Street and she would often say, "One day I'd like to drive down Marion and see where it ends." We always planned to do it but never did. Recently we finally went to the end of Marion and decided it would be a great place to hide a cache.

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU OPEN THE CACHE CONTAINER THAT THE LOG DOESN'T FALL OUT AND GET LOST IN THE SURROUNDING VEGETATION. ALSO PLEASE REPLACE THE CONTAINER EXACTLY AS YOU FOUND IT. THERE WILL BE LESS CHANCE OF IT GETTING MUGGLED THAT WAY.
