It's a unique object in Old Town Albuquerque, NM.
Our Lady of the Tree used to be a little known secret within Old Town, Albuquerque, NM. If you didn't know it was there, you probably wouldn't ever see it. I found out about it from an historical travel magazine. I think you will enjoy its uniqueness.
UPDATE 6/2/14: It is now official. Our Lady of the Tree was hit by lightning and was moved. It is now in front of the church at the corner of San Felipe St. NW and N. Plaza St. NW. It's not possible to change the coordinates, so they still point to where she used to be located. (PLEASE NOTE: These are the current coordinates: N35 05.786 W106 40.173. They do not let you change the coordinates, except through this description). She is no longer hidden, but can be easily seen from the street. It's only a short walk to where she was to where she is now.
Also, I believe you will enjoy finding N 35° 05.859 W 106° 40.138. It's a nice "hidden" historical spot related to Our Lady of the Tree.
UPDATE 4/15/18: I found this description in the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. (visit link) In 1980, a Korean War veteran named Toby Avila took his kitchen knife to an 80-year-old cottonwood tree and spent a year carving this statue, La Virgen de Guadalupe. A week after completing his homage, Avila died, his hands still speckled with blue paint. Today locals and tourist visit Old Town Plaza to honor the Virgin.
