Concerts in the Park at the Gazebo. Dates, performers, and times are being set for 2007's free concerts at the gazebo. All concerts are held on Sundays, and will begin at 6 p.m. and finish around 8 p.m. Bring chairs, friends and family for a relaxing enjoyable evening. More details about the musicians and the types of music they perform are listed at http://www.township.stroud.pa.us/parks.htm.

July 22: Zac Lawless: Well known local musician Zac Lawless brings a fresh blend of rock, blues, folk, hip hop, funk and soul to the stage. Armed with his acoustic guitar and unique vocals, he plays a variety of musical styles which he likes to call "acoustic blue folk funk for the soul." Inspired by The Beatles, Doors, Dylan, James Brown, Bob Marley, Grateful Dead, and Pearl Jam, he strips a song down to the root and gets to it’s true essence. More on Zac at www.zaclawless.com

August 26: Donna Antonow: The best description of Donna comes from a quote by Bob Dorough: “Open your ears and arms to a new stylist. Donna Antonow has a way with a song - her own way. Besides her soul-jazz vocals, she delivers scintillating piano accompaniments, arrangements and solo stylings. I DIG IT!” Donna is accompanied by astounding bassist Tony Marino. Donna performs in the PA, NJ, NY area and has CDs available at Amazon.com. Visit www.donnaanotnow.com for more on Donna’s music.

Sept. 23: Bonnie Childs - Enjoy classic standards from the 1930’s through the 1960’s. Bonnie’s vocals, Jesse Green’s keyboard, and Daniel Gonzalez’s percussion do more than justice to the songs of Cole Porter, George & Ira Gershwin, Billy Holiday, Harold Arlen and more! Bonnie and Jesse are well known local musicians who perform at COTA, The Deerhead Inn, weddings, resorts, and other venues. Daniel performs in NY and locally with Jesse Green, Vinny Bianchi, and others. Easy listening for a relaxing end of summer evening. Community Day 2007 Stroud Township Community Day will be held Saturday, September 8th, at Brodhead Creek Park. Visit our Community Day webpage http://www.township.stroud.pa.us/CommunityDay.htm fordetails, and to see pictures from 2006.

Jay Albertson Park, named after retired Township Supervisor Jay Albertson, is the cornerstone of Stroud Township recreation facilities. This park, locally known as "the duck pond" provides a lovely setting for the Stroud Township Municipal Building. Parking is available in the parking lots, but not on the streets. The park has playground equipment.

Park visitors are asked to NOT feed the ducks and geese, as this encourages more to stay there than the pond can support. Besides fouling the water quality, it is detrimental to the birds' health, and their droppings are tracked all over the grass and playground equipment. These are unsanitary conditions for children to play in. A goose produces approximately one pound of droppings per day. Residents may see temporary visual deterrants over the next couple of years and changes in the landscaping to try to deter the geese from staying permanently at the pond.
