While out caching with
WoodyK, we started philosophizing about life and caching. I
mentioned one of my latest caches entitled
Seven Miles Away and a Half Mile Hike as an example of what
caching used to be before micro spew infected the land. Caching was
hiking with a purpose, getting out and doing some physical exercise
with a reward at the end, a stashed container filled with some
pretty cool stuff. Hopefully, I've gone back to the roots of
geocaching with this one.
This cache is located on a S.B.F.S road which doesn't have many
caches on it. 4X4 is not required, but you'll want to have a high
clearance vehicle. Bring a Forest Adventure Pass as well. There is
a large pullout area near the cache and the road forks just beyond
this area. The last part is a very steep hike gaining 100 feet in
elevation very quickly, which leads to the high terrain rating. I
left some DNA material while hiking up the hill, hence the name of
the cache. Once up there, enjoy the view, find the cache, sign the
log and enjoy the day. You'll drive by
Games people play, so you might as well get that one too.
