Geocache Description:

This is a new type of puzzle cache for us ... hope you enjoy it!

Unlike our previous puzzle caches, where you must solve a puzzle in order to determine the cache coordinates, we have decided to try something new: we're going to give you the coordinates for the cache! Even so, due to tree cover, the cache hiding place may prove elusive!

You may be asking yourself: "This is too easy ... why are they doing this?". The answer to that question is simple: the puzzle has nothing to do with finding the cache ... the puzzle involves figuring out how to open the cache!

The cache is a log-only micro container, which is hidden inside a much larger puzzle container. To open the container, you must figure out the correct sequence of moves. This isn't an overly difficult puzzle, nor does it require physical strength; in fact, if you try to force it, you will probably end up breaking it, so please be gentle! A lot of effort went into constructing this container, so please treat it with respect and TLC.

Here is a picture of the puzzle container; the black tape indicates the handle, which you will need to twist and turn, in order to open/close the container:

You will know that you have correctly solved the puzzle, when you can easily access the embedded micro; if you get to the point where the micro container is only partially visible, then you still need to keep working; you're close, but not quite there. In this situation, please do not try to force the micro container out of its hiding place; keep working the puzzle until the micro is easily accessed. It will all make sense when as you work the puzzle. If you get the container open as shown in the below picture, then you know you have solved the puzzle:

One more important note: after you have successfully opened the container, please take the time to do the puzzle in reverse, so that the container is completely closed! In this way, the next cacher will have the opportunity to work through the puzzle solution. After you have successfully closed the container back up, if you give the handle a small twist, it will lock the handle into place.

You will need to bring your own pen or pencil. There is a shiny new $1 coin in the PVC container for the FTF!

And yet another important note: Since part of the puzzle container is wood, the container is tightly wrapped in a large ziplock bag, which is then slid into a large piece of camo'ed PVC pipe (which has endcaps on each end). Please be sure to place the puzzle back into the bag, before sliding it back into the PVC pipe. I'm a little worried that if the wood gets wet, it will swell, rendering the puzzle useless. You will also notice that the PVC pipe is standing upright, with the top cap (the one you can remove) sticking up; please replace it in this same orientation, to prevent water from sneaking into the container. Thanks!

Good luck! In your logs, let us know what you think of this type of puzzle.

Congratulations to GlenMart for grabbing FTO (First To Open) honors!
