An easy, level bike ride to a great picnic spot along the Coeur d'Alene River.
This cache can be found by starting at Cataldo or at the Snakepit in Kingston and riding the Rails to Trails bike path. We started at the small paved parking lot across from the Enaville Resort/Snakepit. To get there, take exit 43 off I-90 and go north on the Coeur d'Alene River Road, just a couple miles from the freeway. The cache is located near a picnic area off the side of the trail. There's a big rocky area next to the picnic table, where the cache is hidden. The cache is in a tupperware container and includes a book of poetry by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, a book called "Better Beer and How to Brew It," a picture frame, bubbles, fishing tackle, old postcards from the Spokane area, an orange Buddha figure (hate to part with this), a clock/calendar, a No Nukes cow pin, a good luck bracelet and some little ugly bear and buffalo toys. After you find the stash, be sure to visit the Snakepit. For those of you that haven't been to this historic bar and restaurant, we reccommend the rocky mountain oysters. Yum.
