Story continued from the Bridge of Smurfs: (from the episode – The Fake Smurf)
Falling into the river loosens Gargamel's glued on tail which is then found by a Smurf indicating that there must be a false Smurf in the village. Papa Smurf orders the tails of every Smurf checked, by pulling them. When Gargamel is thus discovered he rushes into Papa Smurf's laboratory and barricades himself in.
He is planning to brew a potion to transform him back into a human so that he can finally destroy the village, however the Smurfs manage to break into the lab as he is drinking the potion and, although he returns to his horrid self in looks, he remains the size of a Smurfs and is easily taken prisoner.
