Geocache Description:

The cache can be found just off a paved trail near the Discovery Center.

Stop by the Discovery Center on the north shore of Big Bear Lake to plan your adventures in the San Bernardino National Forest. Stunning views of the lake and mountains are possible from the Observation Deck. “The Discovery Center is your gateway to the San Bernardino National Forest.”

Inside you can learn about the natural environment, participate in hands-on activities, join a Discovery Tour; get information on hiking, biking and camping, view rotating exhibits on wildlife, wildflowers, and history while you learn about the many recreational activities in the Forest.

The Adventure Outpost, a unique gift shop located inside the Discovery Center, is loaded with everything you need for your Forest adventure. It’s a great place to shop for forest gifts including Smokey Bear items, clothing, books, sundries, hats, snacks and lots more!

The Discovery Center: Open 7 days a week Memorial Day through Labor Day 8 AM to 6 PM Non Summer Hours 8 AM to 4:30 PM
