How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

About 150 feet above sea level and down the street from some of the best snorkeling on the island. Terrain is mostly paved, but the medusa-like plant with fangs guards the cache.

This cache can only be visited *after* enjoying the 'two-step' Place of Refuge. Rent snorkel gear from Pineapple Park just up the road on Hwy 11 (about mile marker 110ish) before your search! Say hi to Annie for us. Remember, trash in, trash out. RESPECT THE REFUGE. Only enter the water from the two steps area to keep the coral and other lil' creepers eco-safe. After a refreshing dip, continue your search. There's only 'one-way' to find the cache. Beware of the yellow jackets!

Our stash contains ShellyBug (fly fishing) Travel Bug, a 'reel action' business card, a mauna lani hotel key, an alcohol cleaning pad we picked up from the Hawaiian 'Petroglyph' cache, ceremic fish tile picked up in Pahoa from a hemp-wearing hippie, a fortune tellin' red fish that gave us good advice (hope yours is too).
