[NOR]Vaterlands bro er en bro over Akerselva i Oslo
sentrum.
Broen forbinder gatene Brugata og Grønland, og strøkene Vaterland
og Grønland. Broen ble bygget i 1654 og ombygget i
1830-årene.
Inntil da var all trafikk til det nye Christiania øst- og nordfra
henvist til broen ved Kongens mølle. Vaterlands bro var
hovedinnfartsåre til byen fra nord og øst frem til byggingen av
Nybrua i 1827.
Musikeren Trond Granlund har gitt ut en låt oppkalt etter brua, og
bandet Bjølsen Valsemølle kalte sitt andre album Vaterlands bru.
[ENG]Vaterlands bro is a bridge across the river
Akerselva, downtown Oslo. It connects the streets Brugata and
Grønland, and the areas Vaterland and Grønland.
The bridge was built in 1654 and modified in the 1830ies. Until
then all traffic from the east and north, towards the new
Christiania crossed the bridge by the kings mill. Vaterlands bro
was the main entrance to the city from the north and east until the
rise of Nybrua in 1827.
The musician Trond Granlund has published a song called the same as
the bridge, and the band Bjølsen Valsemølle called their second
album Vaterlands bru.
