This cache is located at Newman Overlook, one of the best views in
Ithaca. The Newman Overlook is in the F.R. Newman Arboretum, which
is part of the Cornell Plantations. The vista you see from the
overlook was created when Fall Creek carved out a giant bowl 12,000
years ago. It is a great spot for playing Frisbee, going for a
hike, romping with your dog (must be kept on a 10-foot leash),
having a picnic and (in the winter) sledding (please be careful not
to run into trees, DO NOT remove fencing). This cache is
appropriate for children and pets. We hid this cache in a small
Tupperware container. It is full of goodies from the Plantations.
There is information about the Plantations and, in particular, this
overlook inside. Please use the opportunity to explore this great
resource. Since this cache is rather small, please bring small,
flat items for it. NOTE: April 10 - We moved this cache about 50
feet to avoid muggles and water problems. Directions: take Route
366 towards Ithaca and make a right onto Forest Home Drive. When
the road ends at a stop sign, turn left onto Caldwell Road. Make an
immediate left onto Plantations Road to enter the Arboretum. Stay
straight on this road, following signs to the Newman Overlook. The
parking area is located at 42°27'10.1" N, 76°27'10.3"W
