In the Birch Hill Wildlife Management Area in Winchendon, Massachusetts. Near Lake Dennison State Park. All but the last 100 feet is on fire-road type trails that would be passable by small cars if the gates were open.
The container is a smallish ammo case, with its original O.D. paint.
Parking:
The summer parking location is at N42-38.770 W72-06.206, by an orange metal gate.
Go through the gate and take a left at a crossroads. Go a little less than a half mile futher and look for a small path on the left. The entire walk is less than a mile.
Winter Parking:
This would be more of a challenge. The closest you can park in the winter is at N42-39.505 W72-05.256, at a yellow metal gate. Note, one person approached from the south last winter and may have been led astray by these coords. If you plan a winter hike, read the old logs and check the topozone map to see where you're going.
