Geocache Description:

Mrs BVPete and I placed a couple of caches on Rangers Ridge, west of Bragg Creek, today. A hike of about 9.5 kms with an elevation gain of approximately 330 meters will be required to find them both. This is a very pleasant and scenic hike, mostly on trail with the off trail part (about 2 kms) consisting of open forest and meadows.

The easiest way to get to the caches is to park at Allen Bill Pond and hike the Fullerton Loop trail to WP002 at the northwestern end of the loop. We did the loop in a counter-clockwise direction to take advantage of the gentler grade. When you get to WP002 turn right off the trail and head up the ridge. Within a short distance you will enter a large meadow where you should head straight up to the crest of the ridge before turning toward the cache. Once you are on the crest of the acsending ridge the walking is easy. The Ranger’s Outhouse will be encountered first, assuming you follow the recommended route. It is located in an area featuring fabulous views of Moose Mountain and the trio of Banded Peak, Cornwall and Glasgow. It is also a good place to rest for a few minutes before tackling the 500m hike to claim the summit cache. There are four other caches located on the Fullerton Loop Trail, so if you haven’t previously found them it could be a six cache hike!

The cache is a custom creation containing some trade items as well as rewards for the FTF, STF & TTF consisting of BVPete’s World famous note cards (well, maybe not World famous). The FTF also gets a loonie.
