About the Series
Signs, Signs Everywhere There’s Signs series will test your ability
to find signs throughout the metrowest area of Massachusetts. These
signs, in one way or another, will lead you to a cache. The number
of caches in this series is undisclosed, but you must make note of
the official coordinates listed in the cache container at each
cache site. You will use these coordinates to determine the
location of the Signs, Signs, Everywhere There’s Signs Finale. To
keep you on your toes, the caches will be released on different
days. Maybe the release dates will only be a few days apart, but
maybe they will be weeks apart.
About SSETS 3
This cache requires you to find signs located in and around the
Marlborough area. At some signs, you will need to take note of
numbers near the signs found in the pictures below. These numbers
will be used to calculate the final coordinates of SSETS 3. Other
signs pictured below are simply for navigational purposes to help
you find the previously mentioned signs. That is, you should stay
on the current road unless the directions/signs below tell you
otherwise. Doing so will speed up your journey.
Your first task will be to find the following sign which marks
the beginning. You will know it is the correct sign if you look
approximately NW and see a large sign with an address on it. The
numerical portion of the address is represented by a three digit
number of which the value of all three digits is the same. Call the
value of this like digit X. Using X, you can calculate F as F = X +
2.
Proceeding approximately north from the previous sign, turn left
here.
At this sign, make a left. Note that this sign is quite
difficult to see if you are coming from the correct direction. You
may need to slow down at this intersection to get a good
view.
There is another sign directly below the one pictured here. Take
note of the 3 digits on the bottom sign (not pictured). Two of the
digits have the same value. Call this value A.
This sign will be on your right as you approach the
intersection. Make a right here.
Take note of the speed limit posted beneath the sign pictured
below. Call the first digit B. You can then calculate G as G = F –
B.
This sign will be on your right as you approach the
intersection. Make a right here.
Head towards this sign when approaching the intersection.
At this sign, stay to the right. However, you must make note of
the date listed on the sign. You may need to park and get out of
your vehicle to do so. Call the last digit in the date E.
Turn right at this intersection.
Turn left at this sign.
Take note of the date posted on the sign below. Call the second
digit C. You can then calculate D as D = C – 1.
You now have enough information to determine the final
coordinates of this cache which is at N 42° AA.BCD W 071°
BE.FGC.
Upon your arrival at the cache location you will be searching
for a micro hidden in a likely spot. There is no room for trade
items and you should BYOP!
