To date I have been caching for approximately eighteen months. I must say that I have enjoyed every aspect of the sport/hobby, from solving puzzles to socializing at the local events.
There are times, however, when I just want to cry! Here is my sob story .... This cache was originally going to be named "THE LAST RITES FOR A GEOCOIN & TRAVEL BUG"and was dedicated to all of us whose geocoins and bugs have gone missing. I thought it was a cool concept, but, unfortunately, it was in violation of a few caching rules and could not be approved, which I certainly understand!
In my despair, I have changed the cache to a traditional quick in-and-out find which will leave you empty and wondering why it was hidden in the first place. You won't work up a sweat getting to the cache, and you most probably will be able to find it with your eyes closed (well, with one eye closed). The only contribution this cache will have to the world of geocaching is that it will bump your numbers up by one! The preserve is pretty, but you will forget this cache quicker than it will take to find it! I could go on, but I can feel the tears coming as I write up this description .... It's so sad!!!!!!
SO WHAT CAN YOU DO TO MAKE ME FEEL BETTER? PLEASE RAVE ABOUT THIS CACHE WHEN YOU LOG IT ...... THAT'S ALL I ASK! Well, there are a few other things!...Feel free to say a few words on behalf of your geocoins and travel bugs that have "GONE DARK", and if you exchange a travel bug and/or a coin, it will make me smile! This is not a travel bug/coin hotel per se .... I like to think of it as the "HEARTBREAK HOTEL"!
In memory of my original cache, I have not changed the name on the log book. It still reads "THE LAST RITES FOR A GEOCOIN & TRAVEL BUG." Also, the First, Second and Third Prizes will remain the same ....... . FTF and SECOND TO FIND prizes are a new New Jersey Geocoin and travel bug. THIRD TO FIND is an Ax Nickel!
The cache is hidden in the Hilla Von Rebay Arboretum located on the east side of Morningside Drive South, Westport. There is space for one car at the trail head which is situated opposite Summer Hill Road (look for the Aspetuck Land Trust sign). The property consists of just under 7 acres and is between two residential properties (please, no night caching). GOOD LUCK AND DON'T FORGET ..... I NEED CHEERING UP!!!
