Geocache Description:

Heading N up Route 27 from Kingfield to Carrabassett, turn right onto the Carriage Road, just after Tufulio's Restaurant and just before the Carrabassett Valley town office.

To find the cache, park at either the Gauge Road Trailhead (2.5 mile walk or bike ride each way), the footbridge (1.8 miles each way) or the gravel pit parking lot just before Poplar Stream Falls (maybe a mile each way). For more information see caches Maine Huts & Trails # 1, # 2 and # 3.

To walk in from the gravel pit parking area, cross the bridge by the falls, walk maybe half a mile. You will see a Flagstaff sign on the left. Keep to the right, go just beyond that sign and bear right up the construction road or take the trail part way up (also on your right). The cache is placed just off the trail and you can see the Hut from there. The GPS was a bit jumpy under the tree cover so be sure to bring the hint with you. The coords for the Hut itself are 45 06.087 070 11.179.
