Geocache Description:

I have always loved this spot. I've gone by here in the last couple of weeks, planning the cache, and have seen Great Blue Herons, American Bitterns, and various ducks and water birds.

If you want to see the wild life, it is best to go at dawn or dusk. The sunsets can be amazing, and at night the ducks are going to sleep and make little "Peep Peep" noises. Very sweet and peaceful.

Cache is a matchstick container, do not need to remove.

When I originally placed this cache, I wasn't sure if the river rose high enough to potentially wash away a cache. So I placed a micro in the way that I did.

There have been two springs where the island was completely covered with water. There also seems to be wildlife nesting in the area, and wildflowers (like the lupine picture to the left, taken at the cache site), I believe this style of hide protects the environment more than a cache under rocks/logs would. This spot is hugely popular with the locals, especially teenagers and I think a larger hide could be found easily by non-cachers.

Thanks for your understanding if you do not like micros. I'm just glad to bring people out to this gorgeous spot.
