Geocache Description:

A most unusual location above some of the many rock quarries on Red Butte. Several routes will bring you to the location, which is not very far above The Furniture. The hike is fairly strenuous, with steep trails and some loose rock. Altitude at the site is about 6400 feet.

This man-made terrace is too unusual to escape attention. Most of the terrace work, including the main flat area, seems to have been there for a very long time, perhaps dating back to when this hill was actively quarried. There are some rock structures, like the throne, which are obviously more recent. But the careful stone placement on the original portion is really cool!

None of the stonework needs to be moved to get to the cache. In fact, if I notice any evidence that the craftmanship here at this cache has been altered, I will archive it immediately. The cache is in a small vitamin container. Take care to replace it exactly as you found it.

The original contents include a cach-u-nut for points at www.cachunuts.com, a logbook, and a pencil. I will add other interesting contents as soon as somebody removes the nut, as there is no room in the small container for anything else! Have fun, and be careful and respectful.
