Geocache Description:

First of all, please don't pass on this one because of the 'stages and scary math...' It's easy to do, and you can find it within 10-20 minutes of starting. Plus, it's a cool container! :-)

This cache has limited hours of availability. The approximate hours are 9:30-5:30 Monday-Saturday with a few extra hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays (I used to specify them, but they've added/subtracted an hour a few times over the years).

The coordinates above will only get you started on figuring out your clue.
Do not search the bushes… It is not there!

Your task is to complete and interpret your 'final coordinates' from the following clues:

ABC.DEF GH

To Find “A”
Stand at the listed coordinates, and look to the left and right of the front door. You'll see two different return slots with blue signs above each of them.

Due to the changes at the library, the blue signs are not there anymore, so to start you off, the first number will be 9. Record as "A."

To Find “B”
Walk about 45 to 50 paces to your right. Look at the plaque honoring Anitra B. Webster.

Look at the four digit year on the plaque, add the first two digits, then divide by ten to get “B.”

To Find “C”
Continue walking until you see a larger sign on your left. This sign tells you where the Jones Memorial Library is (it is altogether separate from the main branch).

Subtract two from the floor number of the Jones Memorial Library to get “C.”

To Find “D”
From here, you’ll need to walk north to the entrance of the other library.

Use the first digit of the 4-digit street address to get "D."

To Find “E”
Now begin walking back towards the starting coordinates. On your right, there is a large curved window with a planter in front of it (resist the urge to bushwhack in the planter :-)

Count the number of bricks on one of the short sides of the planter to find “E.” (Only count those on the top row, the number should be between 5-10.)

To Find “F”
Continue heading towards the starting coordinates. Before you turn the corner, look above you to your right and see the large white "floating" words closest to the window.

Subtract the number of words from the number of syllables they form to get “F.”

To Find “G”
Continue looking at the sign you’ve just used for “F.”

Use the 1st letter of the second word for “G.”

To Find “H”
Just after turning the corner back towards the original coordinates, look at the sign above and to your right on the brick wall.

Use the 19th letter on the top line for “H.”

You should now have your final clue put together in the following format:

ABC.DEF GH

As a couple of favors;
  • Please be inconspicuous while signing the log, you might want to try moving the container or keeping it closed while in the view of muggles.
  • Be quiet, I know it can be exciting to find a cache, but no shouting for joy, please :-)
  • Please limit trade items to small trackables and coins.
  • Please place it back in the exact spot it should be (you’ll know what that means).
  • Good luck and happy hunting!
