dopo oltre due mesi dalla mia ultima nota, non ho ricevuto alcuna risposta.

Per questa ragione sono costretto ad archiviare questo cache. Se non lo hai ancora fatto, per favore raccogli ogni resto del cache al più presto possibile.
Se avete intenzione di intervenire sul cache, una volta completata l'operazione per favore lasciatemi un messaggio con il numero waypoint GC relativo al cache. Sarò più che lieto di verificare nuovamente il cache per verificare la sua conformità con le linee guida.

after more than two months from my last note I have not receive any answer and no action has been taken on the cache. For this reason, I am archiving it. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

Torre di Cerrano - Pineto

Fine sec. XVI

Il luogo dove attualmente sorge la Torre nel medioevo era una posizione di avvistamento e indicava il territorio nel quale sorgeva il porto Cerrano-Matrinus del periodo romano (I e II sec. d.C.).

Nell'estate del 1556 i Turchi assalirono i paesi costieri dell'Abruzzo e furono contrastati grazie alle postazioni difensive volute dal Vicereame spagnolo di Napoli, e cioè robuste torri (come quelle di Martinsicuro, Alba Adriatica, Giulianova) erette lungo la fascia costiera abruzzese e in particolare lungo le foci dei fiumi, dove si erano formati piccoli porti e approdi per le navi.

Queste torri avevano la funzione sia di respingere il nemico e sia di avvertire, con spari e con altri mezzi rudimentali, le popolazioni dell'interno.

La torre di Cerrano deve il suo nome all'omonimo torrente che scende da Atri; fu realizzata due anni dopo l'assalto dei Turchi e si trova nei pressi di Pineto (paese costiero del Teramano), a ridosso della spiaggia, gradevolmente inserita in un ambiente di rara bellezza, circondata da alti pini marittimi.
La Torre di Cerrano ospita attualmente un importante Laboratorio di Biologia Marina. Le acque antistanti la torre custodiscono i resti dell'antico porto di Atri

Cerrano Tower

The place where now stands the tower in the Middle Ages was a sighting tower and indicated the area where was the port of Cerrano-Matrinus, during the Roman period (I and II sec. AD).

In the summer of 1556 the Turks assaukted Abruzzo's coastal countries and were repelled thanks to defensive positions commissioned by the Spanish Viceroyalty of Naples, robust towers (like those of Martinsicuro, Alba Adriatica, Giulianova) erected along the coastline of Abruzzo, particularly along the mouths of rivers, where they had formed small ports and docks for ships.

These towers have the both function to reject the enemy and to warn, with shots and other rudimentary means, the people in the interior.

The tower of Cerrano owes its name to its river that runs from Atri; it was built two years after the assalt of the Turks and is close to Pineto (coastal town of Teramo), behind the beach, pleasantly inserted in a environment of rare beauty, surrounded by tall pine trees.
The tower currently hosts an important Laboratory of Marine Biology. The waters in front of the tower guard the remains of the ancient harbour of Atri.
