How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Location is an old quarry, firm under foot so rain is no problem, stoney and plenty of small trees. On foot or bike is no problem, pushchairs, wheelchairs will be hampered by a stile at the start. several choices for parking with the cache only yards from road.

The location is a disused quarry and you are looking for a smallish plastic box in a black nylon bag, under a rock, only several thousand to choose from :-). The area is crisscrossed with public footpaths and is frequented by dog walkers and mountainbikes so care should be taken as regards muggles.
The cache is easy for children to find though some strength may be required to uncover it and adult supervision is advisable as it is a rocky area with some drop offs a little way from the cache area, please replace cover with care to ensure it is not visible.
The stile at the start of the paths will cause difficulty for pushchairs or wheelchairs but if you can overcome this first hurdle then the rest of the search is not too bad and should be accessible until the last few yards.
The area should be good for the GPSr as the trees are very small so should not interfere with signals.
If you stand 20yds or so to the west of the cache you can see Tyndales monument to the south, which is the site of "Tyndales stump" GC36B1 by dave and Vicky.
After finding the cache take the paths to the south west and you should end up in a field with some fantastic views over looking the valley. I will try and add some caches later on to take you on a lovely walk.
