Short hike on the Weston-Gauley Bridge turnpike trail.
Coords are off by about 5' because I couldn't get good reception at the exact spot of the cache.
This cache is in an area with a lot of civil war history, swimming, fishing, boating, camping, hiking, and of course the legend of the Flatwoods Monster, or the Braxton county monster.
To start, get off of I-79 in Flatwoods and go towards the Go-Mart. Stay on this road till you cross a bridge that crosses Burnsville Lake. When you get to a historical marker for the Millstone Battle turn onto Millstone run. Go past the camping and historic area to the end of the road where you'll find a gate and parking area. If you're not sure you can stop at the Millstone carry out and ask where the trail is.
From the parking area you'll have a .6 mile hike to the cache. This is an easy hike along a dirt road. The rating is for the last 100 feet up a hill.
The original contents are;
1 pencil
1 pen
1 pencil sharpener
1 first finder prize
1 log book
1 matchbox car
1 hex key set
1 letter opener
1 water gun
and toilet paper in case you see the actual monster.
NOTE: There is one creek crossing with your car just a couple of hundred yards before the parking area, so take heed if there has been a lot of rain. There was only a trickle of water in the creek when I placed the cache.
The road is also rough at the end due to logging, but I think a car will be ok if you take your time.
This is a Wildlife Management Area. Be sure to wear your orange in hunting season.
