Geocache Description:

This cache is placed In Memory of the crew of North Central Mercy Flight...June 5, 1987

From Augusta, Montana...take the Sun Canyon Road, west from town...towards Gibson Dam/Reservior. This road is straight across "Main Street" from Hwy. 287, as it comes into town from the Helena direction...287 North. If you are coming from Great Falls...turn right, instead of going left to Helena. (I hope this helps XVampire find their way!!)

This cache is placed In Memory of the Mercy Flight crew that lost their lives on June 5th, 1987. Flight N4999N. The crew, RN. Dori Berndt, Dr. Mike Grimes, Dr. Gary Stoick, and Pilot Jim Meyer were returning to Great Falls from an air ambulance training course in Many Glacier, Glacier Park. One on board was video taping a herd of BigHorn sheep as they flew south down Hannan Gulch. They were flying at treetop level. There was a tailwind...

It is a quiet place in the mountains. A nice spot to reflect on many things. (Sit on the rock)
This seems a small memorial to those who risk their own lives to save ours...but like John Wayne said once,"It ain't how your buried, it's how they remember ya."

I have worked as an EMT, and traveled these roads "saving" people. Many times I was SO glad to see Mercy Flight coming over the hill, to help us...

"Go Rest High on that Mountain" Dori, Mike, Gary & Jim...we will think of you as we cache on!!!
