January 27 by PINGUIM RIDER (248 found) Depois de 4 dias... [This entry was edited by PINGUIM RIDER on Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 11:19:31 AM.]

Cumprimentos Bruno

[Couldn’t find the ‘first movement’. May be he’s lost. If not, I’ll change to DNF.] Maltês(aSolo)20100127 Após 'log' de PINGUIM RIDER aqui vai o prometido NE. A próxima abordagem, daqui a uns meses, será de catana. Ai sim!... [PINGUIM RIDER proves that isn't lost! June 2, 2009 by Judithje (33 found) Yessss! We found it! After having had to give up last year, we came back, determined to find the final cache... Last year, we had one wonderful, sunny day in the area, hunting down parts 1 and 2. We searched for #3 for hours, but could not find a way to get to the coordinates. It got too late in the afternoon, and we had to leave. We came back a few days later, and made it to #3. Then, however, we got rained out. After 2 days of caching, we had the coordinates for the final cache, but a torrential downpour chased us out of the mountains... This year we came back... We checked the status of the cache regularly, and jumped for joy when the cache became live while we're still in Portugal. We returned to the mountains, and parked close to #3. Although "Judithje" had found #3 last year, half of our 2-person team had not actually gone up to the cache, and she felt bad about not actually having seen #3. So we re-did #3 this year. We also re-solved the puzzle for the finale (hey, we love sudokus). Then, with a warm sun on our backs, we had no problems finding the final cache! This is definitely the most difficult cache we've done, but also the most rewarding. We loved the combination of the puzzles and the hike. We'll be sure to do more caches by Team Caracache! We saw the TB, but did not take it. We're carrying a TB on us, from the Netherlands, but it's too large to fit in the cache... Taking one TB but not leaving another did not feel right. Thanks a lot for the cache! Judithje (#29) in/out: -

May 31, 2009 by Team Caracache (593 found) Visited to replace puzzles in the various movements. The following notes may help anyone brave enough to go for this in the summer. The whole Symphony is around 15km from the start at Casa Pacheco, and back to there. Most of it can be done on fairly good dirt track, except for the last 200 metres of the 2nd movement, and about 600m each way on 3rd movement. You will see why it is called 'Adagio'!! The Finale can only be reached by a reasonable 4x4 or a hire car! Ist Movement: There has been a strong growth of brambles near the cache. Be prepared to cut or beat your way in, - if they have recovered from the thrashing I gave them today. 2nd Movement: No problem. 3rd Movement: In the past some have driven 4x4 close to the cache, but a new owner of land in the area, has dug trenches across the path and felled trees, so it is only approachable on foot from the west. Finale: Clear and good condition. I have placed a new Travel Snail TB in it for encouragement. Good Luck! This cache has only been achieved by the Best Geocachers!
