Are you experienced?
The untimely deaths of individuals who define our culture and give us a sense of what we are capable of achieving as a species leave an indelible mark on our collective conscience. Many of us (old enough to remember) know exactly where we were when the individuals in this puzzle met their untimely demise. And we know something of the conspiracy like circumstances surrounding their passings.
If you start at the Square, where the published coordinates are, you can take a short walk to discover the reference point that will help you solve this puzzle.
Individuals are referenced from Left to Right.
J number 1: This J was originally in a band called the Quarrymen which formed in 1956 but didn't include another famous member until BCED. [edited 9.19.07] He was suddenly taken from us by a fan who had just gotten his autograph hours earlier. He died after being fatally wounded by J of the E hollow-point bullets this fan fired at him.
J number 2: This J was the only one to make it past 40 years of age and continued touring with his band for 30 years doing a staggering F(J-B)AJ live shows. An interesting fact is that this J was given a general discharge after receiving F courts martial and I AWOL's which is not surprising given his fan base.
J number 3: This J has had some recent controversy surrounding his official death and the accounts of his passing by close friends who now claim that he died somewhere else entirely and was moved to spare the music venue where he died embarrassment or worse. He was only FG years old when he died.
J number 4: This J was also only FG years old when he died. His band was given top billing at Woodstock but they didn't appear until the event was supposed to be over and the crowd was reduced to a third of its peak on Monday morning. It was then that he played a pivotal rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner. He was listed as number H in the Rolling Stones 100 Greatest Guitarists of all time (2003).
