Concord Park is one of Downers Grove's multi-use parks. Here, you'll find a basketball court, playground equipment for the youngsters, and a heavily-used water retention area. During the weekends of the warmer months, you'll find lots of soccer games and practices going on in that area.
Abby and Xena, the four-leggged members of the "Geo_Dawgs", also enjoy walking over to this park, running around and barking. This cache, our first, is in honor of them.
At the first waypoint, you'll find three markers. One has a very large number on it, the second is yellow and has a telephone number and a four-digit number, and the third has a cone on it. You'll need both numbers from the second marker to find the cache.
Take the last digit of the four-digit number and subtract it from the latitude of your current waypoint. That will will give you the latitiude of the cache.
Now take the last four digits of the telephone number, add 10 to it, and then add that to the longitude of the first waypoint. That will give you the longitude of the cache.
You're looking for a cylindrical container that's around 6 inches long and has an opening 2 1/2 inches wide. And if you're a ham radio operator, you're just about in K9RJ's back yard.
