November 28, 2009 by trowel32 (4545 found) I probably should have found this last time, but I'm kind of glad I didn't because I really enjoyed the walk (again). I also fully intended to come look for this in the daylight since I had trouble finding it last time, but as usual, the time escaped me and by the time I found the three caches in the main trail system of Cheesequake and then "This Piney Piggy" it was pretty much dark . The Wolf's devil dogs were once again guarding the entrance to the trail and were barking their heads off It turns out I was glad it was dark, because a) its more fun doing a night cache at night, and I like the pretty, sparkly reflectors and b) the moon was 2/3 to 3/4 full and it looked really neat out. I didn't even need my headlamp for most of the walk and kept it off except to skirt around some of the puddles (until I got to the "off road" section, where I did need to relocate the reflectors). At one point I did have it on though, while passing through the reeds and saw several sets of small orange eyes looking at me from very low to the ground. I thought it could have been muskrats since it was in the swamp, but I guess could have been squirrels. Then further up the trail I saw several sets of deer eyes looking at me. At least I hope they were deer, and not werewolves...it was a little unnerving. Before I headed to the cache location I walked a little farther on, just like last time. The path was generally a lot drier and the water level much lower, so I was able to venture further out and I could actually see the creek. Maybe it was low tide also which would explain the lack of water. Then I headed over to look for that sneaky wolf. Got up the steep hill much more easily this time since it was dry and arrived at the wolf's lair. I was a little more aggressive in my search this time and after a few minutes I found that big bad guy. Very cool cache container I like all the piggy themed items and was really enjoying the smell of the playdoh. I think I used to eat it when I was a toddler, so I guess it brought back pleasant memories Unfortunately while I wasn't paying attention the big bad wolf grabbed the piggy coin that I had just retrieved from "This Piney Piggy", so I guess someone will have to come rescue him. I also dropped off a cute alligator TB. The alligator promised to behave himself, but I hope he isn't too tempted by all that pork in there . As I signed the log, I sat down and faced out to the marsh. The view was amazing in the moonlight since the moon was behind me and lit up the whole marsh below. After I put the cache back I turned my headlamp off and stayed to enjoy the view a bit more. I highly recommend doing this one during a full moon (or close to full). I probably could have hung out there all night but I figured it was probably time to leave since the wolf needed his beauty sleep. Thanks for a very fun cache in an awesome spot

November 4, 2009 by tmmiller (895 found) We were greeted by several sets of green glowing eyes near GZ. Very cool! Dropped my Get Off My Cloud - 999 geocoin for future adventure. Thanks again for the awesome night cache.

November 3, 2009 by jimmyg7929 (813 found) #690 I didn't stick around for the event hunt, so made plans to go with some of my caching buds. It was great to have the CO join us for the hunt. Not that he gives it away, but he helps "keep the train on the tracks." First I learned that Ericles must have had a giant help him set up the trail. Once I got that straight, it became easier. Since this was the night of the full moon, we made our way to the marsh to see the moonglow. Gomez and Morticia would have loved it! We eventually got our bearings straight as the BBW, (aka tmmiller) came from the other direction. Nice trail and nice hide. Also loved the khamo khan artwork! TNLNSL, TFTC!

November 3, 2009 by ekitt10 (2495 found) Nice night walk! I attempted to get a cache posse together. I missed the target, but hit the tree. As it turned out I needed to get in and out quickly. tmmiller did keep me company on the hike out and assisted me with the find. Some how, I managed to miss jo.b and jimmyg headed in while I was headed out and even more amazing, I managed to miss meeting up with ericles. I didn't miss getting an earful from the yapping dog near the first marker. Thanks!

November 3, 2009 by jo.b (1584 found) Just like Todd I was unable to go night caching after the Piggy event, so when Jimmy and Nik suggested trip on Tuesday evening I was very happy to join them. We managed to convince CO and tmmiller to with us as guides. The night was amazing, big bright moon, no wind and fairly warm air. It was my first night caching trip and I loved every minute of it. Of course it is easy to say that when you cache with your friends and the CO is there to stop you from swimming across the creek LOL We got lost in one spot, couldn't find the tacks for at least 10-15 minutes but after thorough search we spotted one. Found cache in great shape. Took coin, left TB. Looking forward to more night caches :) Thanks!
