It's that time of year again...time for the 2nd Annual Monster Paddle! Boo.
This year lets partake in a paddle parade through Roger Williams Park! And whatever you do, come in full costume. First, you don't want the zombies to pick you out of the crowd, but more importantly we are having a Costume Contest...with prizes. I also wouldn't rule out a little trick or treat fun and other Halloween shenanigans.
PFDs (personal floations devices, aka life jackets) and lights are required for this event. Ensure you have a white light for the front deck of your boat. We will be paddling after the sun sets. Despite the nature of the event, we do want to be visible to any other boaters on the river.
This event is water-based. We will gather in the middle of Cunliff Lake from 3-3:15pm, trading geocoins, trackables, and ghost stories. From here we will continue our paddle/parade through the park, doing a little trick or treating and soliciting the votes of muggles for Best Costume, as the sun sets--in true trick or treat style!
We will meet at 2:30p at the boat launch to head out. Sunset is approx 5:50p this day. Additionally, there are a bunch of kid's activities scheduled in the park this day along with the jack-o-lantern event at the zoo in the evening. Lots going on, lots of people, lots of potential for fun!
Rain date is October 26.
